From Pirates to Superman, to Harry Potter, whatever you want to be for Halloween you can bet you will find it.
Mike Flint who works for Mallatt Pharmacy in Madison said,
" in our store we have a lot of people who can help you with ideas."
People shell out big bucks every year for Halloween Costumes, but too often your kids terrifying outfilt can become more than just a cool costume.
Mallatt Pharmacy in Madison has been a hot spot for costumes for years but says costumers should practice costume safety.
" make sure the outfits fit. Many of these are just a little bit long for everybody, so you just want to make sure they can walk without tripping on their costume, Flint said."
But tripping could be the least of your worries, costumes that come with knifes, guns or other weapons can become dangerous.
" even in the store here playing swords with each other, you can see the potential for somebody getting hurt. Its really important when you choose to use some of these weapons is to keep some of the pointed areas away from somebody else's face, keep them close on the body, because that can be an issue, Flint said."
Another issue, masks
" As neat as these masks are, the important thing is the visibility through the eyes. Many masks you cut so you can get a better visibility, that's why we recommend make-up for kids, Flint said."
And dark colored costumes can cause a problem too.
" the visibility factor is really low and during Halloween, you're going to have a problem with people being able to see your kids so you want to make sure that they've got flashlights, Flint said."
And most importantly you want to make sure the costume is what your kids want, that way everyone has a Happy Halloween.
A quick fun fact, according to the National Retail Fedearation the top kid costume is princess, and for adults it is a witch.
