Troubled teen boys in Dane County will soon have a new program to help them get back on track.

Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk announced the Focus Program Tuesday morning.

The Milwaukee based initiative aims at creating a residential facility for boys that includes a detention center and shelter – which will in turn help troubled youth better transition into society.

"Kids working with their families and connecting with their families is key to their success,” says Cathy Connolly, President of St. Charles Youth Services. “And every bit of the program is centered around kids working in their communities."

The program will handle about ten teen boys at one time. The Dane County Focus Program is expected to be in place by the end of the year.
