Governor Thompson.
We said it for 14 years.
Will we say it for four more?
Or might it even be Senator. Or President Thompson?
In an interview with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Former governor and Health and Human Services Secretary Tommy Thompson didn't close the door on any of those options.
As a matter of fact, he says if he runs for governor, he'll win.
He says he could announce his decision as early as this weekend.
We talked with Roger Putnam and Tim Roby of Putnam Roby Communications for the latest details Friday.
"Something that we have heard in the last few hours, is that Tommy has the blessing of the family.
Whatever he decides to do, the family, Sue Ann, and his daughter and son have said we will support you; that is a huge development, now whether he actually goes for it, remains to be seen, but that was the big stumbling block, and I've been told that was somewhat removed this morning, says Tim Roby.
"And one of the things we talked about earlier this week is that there is a fairly large private sector deal on the table for Tommy, that he still has to decide on as well.
Something in excess of a million bucks a year, staring at him in the private sector," explains Roger Putnam.
Thompson says he hasn't ruled out running for US Senate against another Democratic incumbent, Senator Herb Kohl.
He also admits he would like to run for president, but doesn't know if he will.
You can expect Putnam and Roby to have the latest on the Tommy Thompson saga, Monday on "Unspun" right here on NBC 15 News at five.
