Children whose lives have been changed by the simplicity of oxygen gathered for the grand opening.

Patients and their families cut the ribbon this morning outside the hyperbaric oxygen center in downtown Madison. Hyperbaric oxygen chambers treat neurological conditions by literally pumping oxygen into the brain.

Shannon Kenitz is spearheading the effort to educate parents about hyperbaric treatment because her six-year-old daughter, Grace, has benefited from the treatment. She says, "What I'm trying to do through the international hyperbaric association is to provide education and provide funding so that studies can be done ... but to get information to the parents first."

This is the only facility in Wisconsin specifically designed for hyperbaric treatment. Hyperbaric treatment is used to treat neurological conditions such as autism, cerebral palsy and multiple scoliosis.
