The American Civil Liberties Union of Wisconsin says it's sent 100 DVD's to libraries across the state in an effort to sway the upcoming vote on the death penalty.
The DVD is a movie about six people wrongfully convicted of crimes and placed on death row before new evidence freed them.
The movie distribution was made possible by an anonymous donor.
Death penalty advocates have repeated their call for bringing back capital punishment after recent cases such as the murder of Teresa Halbach and principal John Klang in Cazenovia.
Wisconsin has the nation's longest ban on the death penalty, having outlawed it in 1853.
The ballot question for voters November 7th is not binding. The Legislature would still have to pass a bill reinstating the death penalty, and the governor would have to sign it.
